As part of a nutritional consult your diet, lifestyle and past and current medical history will be covered. A series of painless nutritional tests will also be performed. From this, your treatment plan will be devised. You may also be prescribed practitioner only supplements- highly effective supplements only available through qualified health care practitioners.
Your treatment plan is individualised to you and will include any sensible and realistic changes required. It will be designed to complement any medical treatment you are currently undergoing, including medications. For this reason, it is important that you bring along any relevant information regarding any medications, herbal remedies or other treatments you are currently taking. Blood test results relating to your presenting condition are also useful to bring with you.
BIA and VLA
Dave Duncan is one of a select group of healthcare professionals who have received extensive training in maximising healthy ageing and improving vitality with the Vitality, Longevity and Healthy Ageing Program. Dave Duncan uses a scientifically validated test known as Biological Impedance Analysis (BIA), which assists him to design a program specifically for your needs. Nutritional supplements, exercise recommendations and dietary advice will be provided, giving your body the building blocks for maximum health and energy.
BIA is a science that has been used for monitoring patients in a hospital setting since the 1980s. The procedure involves connecting leads to your hands and feet and passing a low voltage electrical current through your body. The test is completed in a matter of minutes and is painless. This provides an insight into aspects of your health such as how much fat you have in your body. BIA can also help to monitor your cellular health, in particular your fluid distribution. You will receive a copy of your BIA report to take home with you at follow-up and any subsequent consultations.
BIA is an amazing and valuable tool. As part of the VLA program it has several applications, including:
Managing weight more effectively
Increasing muscle tone and fitness
Improving energy levels
Supporting healthy ageing
Supporting the nutrition and health of your body
